Gift Ideas from Local, Mom-Owned Businesses

It's been a year for us moms! Knowing that this is going to be an extra meaningful Mother's Day for many families, I wanted to put together a few ideas to share.

This year has been an insanely difficult one for small business owners, particularly those that have had to juggle loss of child care and homeschooling their children. You can show your mom or mother of your children that you appreciate her, while supporting a business owned by a mom who has had to work extra hard to stay afloat this year.

Local Mother's Day Picks

(1) Shop The Thrifted Table Market for truly one of a kind vintage finds. Buy an antique vase or pitcher and fill it with fresh flowers. (2) Baubles from TD Luxe are available in stacks so you can buy a set ready to gift! (3) A wonderful gift for a new mom or mom to be is a year membership to the Hamilton Wenham Mother's Club. This organization was a life-line for me when we moved to town and had my first baby (4) Moms love monogramed anything! Pick out a tote bag or purse from A Monogram Shop (5) Grab a gift card for a relaxing and energy balancing reiki facial with Kim at TD Beautique. Don't know what reiki is? Don't worry, she will! (6) This sweet 8 x 10 floral painting would make a lovely gift that mom can enjoy all year.

Each item on my list is from a local-to-me, mom-owned business, but it's just the tip of a very large iceberg! Even if you don't live in the Boston area, you can still find businesses close to you that are owned by moms and mom figures.

Happy Mother's Day, and keep your chin up, ladies!
