Florida Bathroom with Crane Mural

Painting sandhill cranes and in such a graphicly inspired manner were actually inspired by my bathroom design. At first I was going to hang wallpaper but thought I should take the opportunity to practice my mural work- something I hope to do more of in the future. I kept coming back to blue tones and birds and settled on the graceful crane.

Several sketches in various colorways were created. In the end I planned to do the painting above with oversized birds on a Dutch blue ground. I'm glad I didn't start right away (it finally paid off!) because we would end up putting our home on the market shortly after the bathroom was complete. 

I'm happy to say that the cranes did, in fact, make it to mural form and live on for sale in my Society 6 shop.
